Jim Carrey's On and Off Girlfriend Found dead!

Cathriona White, girfriend of Actor, Jim carrey has been found dead in her apartment in what has been described as an apparent suicide.

The 53 year old actor and the now late Ms. White have been know to have an on-again-off-again type relationship.

They broke up their second relationship on the 24 of September and sge was found dead five days later.

She left a disturbing message on her twitter page on the day of ger break up which reads:I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest'. 

The Los Angeles Police Department tells E! News that officials responded to a call in the L.A. area on Monday evening, and when they arrived at a residence, they found the body of White, 28, at her home in Sherman Oaks at 8:46 p.m.
Police say White was pronounced dead at the scene from a possible overdose. Pills were found next to her.
E! News confirms that White left a suicide note.

Gabriel murta, said to be a policeman by day, dashed to the changing room and returned with his service weapon to confront the players. But thankfully he didnt shoot as his colleagues restrained him.

Blatter, Platini Face likely Suspended

The bosses of FIFA and UEFA are under investigation by an independent ethics committee of FIFA, AFP reported that they could both face suspension.

Spokesman of the Committee Andreas Bantel didnt give much information but hinted that they committee convened.

Swiss authorities stated on friday that FIFA President Sepp Blatter is now under investigation over the sale of TV rights to a Caribbean group in 2005.

Buhari has stated that those who sabotaged Nigeria's progress with misappropriation of funds in Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation during the past government will soon be brought to book, though he didnt say when the trial will begin Or those qho will b prosecuted.

Inturn Xi Jinping spoke of the two countries bilateral relationship and their present work in different sectors in the Nigerian economy, including the Electricity sector with the Mambilla Hydro-Power Project at hand.

54 Nigerians Certified Dead in Hajj Stampede

It has been confirmed that 54 nigerians lost their lives at the ritual of stoning the devil, this number was ascertained by The chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Barrister Abdullahi Muktar Muhammed.

While speaking with journalist in Makkah last night, Muhammed said 42 out of the 54 that died were from states pilgrims welfare board while 16 were those brought to Saudi Arabia by tour operators. He said 2 officials of NAHCON also died in the stampede. According to him, the dead Nigerians were from   Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, Borno, Zamfara, Cross River, Jigawa, Kano, Kogi and Kebbi states.
And the Chairman said a committe has been setup to look for the missing pilgrims and that there is hope that they will be found alive and well.

Parents Owe Their Daughter's Killer's Ammo supplier $203,000 in Court Fine

When James Holmes opened fire on a movie theater in Aurora Colorado back in 2012, he brutally killed 12 people with one of the victims being 24-year-old Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring sports reporter.

Her parents forwarded a lawsuit against Lucky Gunner,the online ammunition store that supplied Holmes with the ammo used in the deadly shooting.

The judge dismissed the case on the grounds that online sellers have special immunity under the Federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, in addition to a similar Colorado statute.
Now her parents, Lonnie and Sandy Phillips, have taken to Huffington Post in order to explain why they attempted the unsuccessful suit.

The grieving parents wrote an opinion piece on the matter, which HuffPo headlined “We Lost Our Daughter to a Mass Shooter and Now Owe $203,000 to His Ammo Dealer.”
Here are a few excerpts:

“We brought our lawsuit because we thought it was outrageous that companies could sell a dangerous man an arsenal without getting any information about him, and without making any effort to see if he was a dangerous killer,” they wrote.
“Which he was.”
“These companies set up their business so people just like this killer can arm themselves at the click of a mouse. We wanted to change that.”

They noted that they didn’t seek financial compensation from the lawsuit:

“We did not seek any money in our case. We just wanted injunctive relief, to have these companies act reasonably when they sold dangerous materiel, like 100-round ammunition magazines, ammunition, body armor, and tear gas.”

The judge thought the case was so frivolous that he made the family pay the ammunition store a hefty fee, to the tune of over $200,000:

“This is an outrageous amount, especially given that this case was decided after one single motion!”

An additional aspect of the story is that the Brady campaign may have put the parents up to the case, only to leave them with the court costs when the “strike suit” didn’t go as planned.
According to the NRA:

The court was even more direct in an opinion released last week awarding the defendants defense costs and attorneys’ fees. “It is apparent that this case was filed to pursue the political purposes of the Brady Center,” Judge Matsch stated, “and, given the failure to present any cognizable legal claim, bringing these defendants into the Colorado court where the prosecution of James Holmes was proceeding appears to be more of an opportunity to propagandize the public and stigmatize the defendants than to obtain a court order which counsel should have known would be outside the authority of this court.”
When all was said and done, the plaintiffs were ordered to pay the various defendants a total of $203,001.86. Just who will ultimately foot the bill is unknown, but Judge Matsch also noted the close relationship of the named plaintiffs to the Brady Campaign itself. Brady, having exploited the plaintiffs’ tragic circumstances for the group’s own political agenda, hopefully won’t leave the plaintiffs on the financial hook as well. Predictably, the fee award is being appealed.

Lucky Gunner, the ammo shop, has noted that they will donate this money to guns rights groups. The family claims they don’t have the money to pay the legal fees.
But even with the threat of financial destitution, the parents of Jessica Ghawi are still set on changing the gun laws in this country.

“We are calling on the citizens of this country and the gun violence prevention community to stand ready to help us get in the face of state and national legislators.
Join us in helping to get the word out to the American citizens who are not aware of how these laws take away the rights of victims of gun violence.”

The parents also started a non-profit organization called Jessi’s Message.

Politics Has Been Mixed With Religion in Nigeria- Osinbajo

At the thanlsgiving service to commemorate the 55th Independence of Nigeria, held at the national ecumenical center Abuja, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has identified politics in matters of religion and tribe as a major problem facing the Nation at the moment, Osinbajo said Nigerians must dissociate themselves with from such tribal and religious lines as the issues that affect the country affects all irrespective of tribe or religion.

"Our nation is sharply divided for long along religious and tribal lines. The moment we are divided against ourselves we can’t stand. We must also speak on the unity of the country. It will make a difference in the future of this country.

Our country’s major problem is that we play politics with everything. We play politics with religion, we play politics with tribe.

When a bomb goes off in Potiskum or Maiduguri, it doesn’t ask questions, whether you are a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa. The issues that we see go beyond the contest between Christians and Muslims. We have seen children and adults blown to pieces who are victims of insurgency.

There were Christians, Muslims and those who do not profess any faith. Jesus Christ did not come to this world to celebrate religion, but for redemption. He came to make sacrifice for us.

The message of Jesus Christ transcends religion. No matter what it is that we face, the answer lies in the love of Jesus Christ. That is what we see as Nigeria clocks 55. We also expresse our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in Mecca" he said

Woah! Sinkhole appear on Queensland peninsila

Queensland peninsula is where a gigantic sinkhole has opened up could eventually disappear, according to geotechnical engineer.

The sinkhole has now been estimated to have swallowed 200 metres of beachfront. All the campers escaped and no injuries were reported. Close to 300 campers were evacuated from Inskip Point near Rainbow Beach on Saturday night after the sinkhole swallowed a car, caravan, tents and a camping trailer.

A geotechnical engineer, Allison Golsby, says scientific reports indicate the entire peninsula could fall away.

“People have said that at some stage they think Inskip Point may not be there,” she told ABC radio. “Now that could be thousands of years, it could be hundreds of years.”

Golsby confirms that the area had a history of sinkholes and should be closely monitored to warn of any further collapse. “The ideal answer is [it is] great to monitor because then we keep everybody in the right place and they won’t be put in a position like that,” she told ABC radio.

Geomechanics and geotechnical engineers were investigating and should be able to ascertain what was behind the sinkhole activity and whether the area could be stabilised, she said.

Geotechnical engineers have completed an initial assessment and were due to conduct further inspections using ground penetrating radar on Monday. Campsites on either side of the sinkhole will remain closed until the area is properly assessed.
